Principals of Operation-- Previous Page
Met-Pro VOC solvent concentrating systems are designed to concentrate dilute solvents before final treatment by carbon adsorption/solvent recovery or by catalytic/thermal oxidation.

VOC control systems use a unique honeycomb shaped activated carbon to adsorb hydrocarbons from process exhaust. The key component to the VOC system is the honeycomb rotor, which constantly turns and is divided into two parts - one for adsorption and one for desorption. The influent exhaust and the desorbing hot air flow in opposite directions along the tubular path through the honeycomb. The hydrocarbons are adsorbed onto the activated carbon fiber in the adsorption honeycomb and the carbon fiber is regenerated by the hot air in the desorption honeycomb. Desorbed solvents exit with the hot air in a volume of only 1/5 to 1/15 of those entering the VOC system.
